Fictional...

... buildings.

Wow, those fake buildings are much more interesting than many of the real ones that the hip architects are doing these days.

This reminds me of the "architecture" on the Euro banknotes: "The design for each of them has a common theme of European architecture in various artistic periods. The front (or recto) of the note features windows or gateways while the back (or verso) has bridges. Care has been taken so that the architectural examples do not represent any actual existing monument, so as not to induce jealousy and controversy in the choice of which monument should be depicted". That about sums up the philosophy of the European Union, doesn't it?

I tend to think that after they built the Lloyds Building, all fake architecture was obsolete.

These 50 non-fictional buildings are more expressive than the PhotoShopped ones, IMO.

BTW, the Dome House, in Pensacola, FL is on sale for $1.275 million, if you're looking to avoid those nasty Wisconsin winters...

That Lloyds Bldg would look nice in a bright and sunny environment. Dark and cloudy London? Not so much.

john, thanks for that link, what interesting structures. I'd not seen the Kansas City Library before -- that's great. But I wonder why they include the church in Sedona and not Temppeliaukio Church in Helsinki.
