The tallest teenage girl.

Originally from Jamaica, now going to school (and playing basketball) in New Jersey, Marvadene Anderson is 5" taller than Michael Jordan.
"People are friendly with me because of my height and my personality. If I was tall and mean, I think I'd have a problem," she said.

"The rudest thing anybody ever said about my height is that I'm not going to be able to find a husband."
I identify. I was told when I was a kid that I'd never be able to find a husband. Not that I was tall. I wasn't.

Moderation is all things, even what you can't control.

Ha!

She's definitely not from the west.
Does anyone say that anymore?

Young women seem more concerned about finding a flat they can afford than finding a first husband.

I can relate to that. When I was a kid I was also told that I'd never be able to find a husband.

Or a flat husband that can afford them.

I hope a nice guy who can appreciate her unique gifts will get in touch with her. Having a write-up in the New York Times couldn't hurt!

But you went into the law, anyway.

Because everyone knows husbands are hidden away and you need detective skills to "find" one.

Ann, you can't be serious!! Surely you don't mean this delightful young woman --

She should not listen to all these well wishers. She will marry the best guy in the word. I have a friend who is 2" taller than her husband, which never prevented her from wearing 3" heels. They are married near 40 years now.

When I was a kid, I wasn't told that I could never find a husband, but that was probably true anyway, because back then, same-sex marriage was a pretty outlandish concept. Also, I'm not gay.

I guess this isn't really a relevant point, but I felt like typing.

Even the tall girls can find someone!"

You proved them wrong by finding two.

Holding her umbrella for her can be managed with a long handled one. But going thru doors all the husband can do is yell, duck! Still, men will take up a challenge. How about an NBA player?

A funny, adorable husband would yell "AFLAC!."

I thought Senator John Kerry was the world's tallest teenage girl?

That's cute. My husband's taller than me, but not by much. At first I though I should be concerned about wearing high heels around him, but nowadays (10 yrs in) I wear them with reckless abandon, and he seems to like it!

2 shockers in my book:

1. she's probably still growing
2. she only wears a size 11 shoe ! or was that size 11 mens ?

I have a step aunt who is over six feet tall. She was very introverted as a teenager, but her brother convinced (more like forced) her to go to a social at a local tall club, and she had a great time. Now she's eighty or so, and you'd never guess that she was shy at one time.

She had a great husband too.

Tall clubs are still around. This is one:
