"What will the web do to content, in terms of high-cost, expensive, time-consuming content?"

Charlie Rose descends into an existential void...

ADDED: Judging from most of the comments to this post the answer to the question above is that time-consuming content will be ignored or assumed to be whatever it appears to be at first glance. In case you're using a device that won't play embedded video: here's the link to the YouTube page. Now, please. Take the time to watch.

I like Charlie.

For example, Sully was not bad on Rose this week. But, he did look really stupid when Rose had to set him straight (no pun) regarding Rahm, otherwise not bad.

Timmy G did alright, too.

Do folks know all these shows are available any time via the tubes? I play them in the background while working.

What people need to do now is to learn to watch the Obama Administration. They do everything that is right, correct, and innovative. Why bother with other people? The worse mistake you can do today is to think of the GOP. No do not even go there.

NB: It is official. The seats for House and Senate: 224 and 54. My internal polling has confirmed this for 4-consecutive days. Previous statistical modeling has implied that this re-occurence means the election is in the bag, so to speak.

PS: Do not contribute in this bad economy to the GOP. Save. You will need it for future. Instead, give everything to us, the Democratic Party.

I would have expected your internal polling to show the Ds increasing their advantage as we approach November. Maybe that will happen on day five.

OK,

That was simply brilliant.

And hilarious.

And brilliant!

Wow.

It would be even better with a bit of autotuning. But then again, what wouldn't?

Charlie Rose is on PBS for a reason, isn't he?

Two figures illumined against the blackness preach their pronouncements to the blackness. There's not much drama because we know that their pronouncements will not illuminate the blackness and that the blackness will finally win.

Smug & liberal & average IQ & smug & half-asleep [on drugs?] & smug gets you a long career on whatever station [PBS?] pays him.

What did Rose have to correct Sully about, regarding Rahm?

Next up, My Dinner with Charlie Rose.

Rose is at his pretentious worst while trying to prove he's on the cutting edge of technology and business.

Yet when Bill Gates is on, Rose never asks him why Microsoft produces so much shit. Instead, it's all about the Gates Foundation.

I like Charlie Rose. He's fairly innocuous and I've learned a thing or two from his show. This was actually lol worthy.

All signs are sure pointing to a huge Dem victory in a couple of weeks. Thanks to the work, the excellent and literate work, of AP.

AP: That is indeed enough reason to say you are right when you urge us to save our money. Because if the Dems win we will need every penny.

By the way, I showed your official post to a couple of my Dem friends and they are so happy they are staying home instead of voting. Since it is in the bag.

Ahhhhhh...loved that.

For a period of time in the Eighties, I used my TV on a timer as an alarm. I had to get up in the wee hours, and the only thing on was Charlie Rose. I woke up to this buttmunch every morning.

It burrrrrrnnnnnsssssss...

That is very funny.

I llke Charlie Rose as an interviewer, but it is sublime when he uses his talents on himself.

What was it you wanted?
Tell me again so I’ll know
What’s happening in there
What’s going on in your show
What was it you wanted
Could you say it again?
I’ll be back in a minute
You can get it together by then

What was it you wanted
You can tell me, I’m back
We can start it all over
Get it back on the track
You got my attention
Go ahead, speak
What was it you wanted
When you were kissing my cheek?

We need to pull up old Althouse BloggingHeads from the Tubes and fashion a conversation between the beautiful, charming and witty Althouse and the angry, alert and focused on the jugular Althouse.

D,

Sully was saying that BHO will be less likely to be cornered into a never ending commitment in Afghanistan now that Rahm is gone. Then, Rose noted how the Woodward book had Rahm on the opposite side of that argument.

Sully looked really dumb. And this sort of error really does punch a hole into a person's credibility, such that you can't trust their conclusions about anything. Not that there are many folks who trust Sully's views w/o their own independent confirmation.

"old Althouse BloggingHeads "

Start w/ that one with Matt Welch. That one has both animated and calm Althouse. And, it has Welch making (what we can now see were) really good predictions re the coming election.

Ok, I played it. I want my 3:38 back. Not amusing. I've seen AMV with better editing and a better point.

I did some internal poling this morning on the Democrat's chances. After expelling the poll I flushed it.

I expect the Democrats will be flushed in Nov. And not from a sense of joy.

I got the joke in the first minute. Then I kept expecting a fresh twist which never came, wishing that YouTube had Blogging Heads' 1.4X speed setting. So short answer: If you're going to consume my time, make it information dense or I'm clicking away.

"What will the web do to content, in terms of high-cost, expensive, time consuming content?"

If we're talking expensive-and- time-consuming-to-gather content: Isn't high-cost, expensive, time consuming content only high cost and time consuming because journalists must go out among the masses to find the experts and others in the know to explain what is going on? Why, then, how amazing that the experts and people in the know are already on the web! An Army of Davids is it?

That pretty well sums up Beckett, doesn't it? :)
