Hillary Clinton is more popular than she's ever been...

... except for that one time when everybody felt sorry for her.

Ah so. When compared to the real Obama, even the woman Hillary suddenly seems more popular. So how would a Palin vs Clinton 2012 match come out. They could either one be able to claim that a vote for them was an historic first for women.

I feel worse for her now having to babysit the President and his entire staff than I ever did during that unfortunate episode.

Right. That was the time that Hillary broke down and cried because she...just...cared...*sniff*...so much...about our country. Something like that, I think.

I suppose it's a good thing that the weepy woman thing didn't work for long and she lost the nomination. Our political culture is bad enough without adding that to the mix.

Apparently acting the gorgon increases her popularity...or maybe it isn't an act.

President Obama, Hillary Clinton, George Bush and a ten-year-old girl are up in an airplane when it develops engine trouble. There are only three parachutes for these four people. Obama says "I am President, our country needs me!" He takes a parachute and jumps out.
Hillary Clinton says "I am an extremely intelligent and important woman, a role model for half the population!" She takes a parachute and jumps out.
George Bush turn to the ten-year-old girl and tells her to take the last remaining parachute as she has her whole life ahead of her. "That's all right, Mr. Bush," the girl replies, "we both can parachute to safety. Hillary took my book bag."

She is a fool. She should have stayed in the senate. There she would have had power and clout. As Secretary of State she is subservient to an idiot. Nothing she does can overcome that. Forget 2012. Obama is the democratic nominee, the party will never stab him in the back for various reasons. She hasn't got a prayer in the primaries and her record is a reflection of his record so what is she going to campaign on? That she is a more competent communist? She's done and her foolish choice of serving in this administration is proof of her lack competence to even run for the white house.

Yeah, cubanbob, she's pretty much screwed unless a Republican wins in '12, then there's a chance later.

She'll be 69 in 2016. That's right about the time when age becomes an issue. Also, Secretary of State is a thankless job. You end up owning any mistakes the president makes, and this one has made quite a few.

I think her days as a powerful national figure are over when she resigns her current office. Cubanbob is right - she was a fool to leave the Senate.

The Klintons have to be doing a slow burn every single day, having lost out to this current inept bungler who denied them their Unique Position in All of American History. I agree, unless they do something really crazy like resign and run again, then her window of opportunity has passed.

It's certainly not enough to feel sorry for them, though.

The Hildabeast is finally getting some face time and showing she has a bigger pair than Little Zero. So she gets a bump.

Her bump will last until the 22nd MEU goes ashore, with an announcement that a brigade from the 1st Cavalry Division is en route to provide "tech support" .

This is yet another indication that a large amount Americans are idiots.

She is a treasonous Biotch that allowed one born a British Subject (thus not natural born) to ascend to the Presidency.

AllenS has it right. She appears to have had some surgical work done on her face recently and just yesterday I noticed that she's lost a little weight.

I say she's going to run in this election coming to reclaim the presidency that she thinks Obama stole from her the last time. At 69 in the '16 election her time will have been past, Hillary! only has one more shot and it's coming up fast.

BTW: AllenS the idiots that are causing her great poll numbers voted for "the first black president" last time.

This time they'll be lining up to vote for "the first woman president" in droves.

As Rush has said a thousand times, it's symbolism over substance and it seems to be driving this American Idol culture we have going in this country right now.

Hillary Clinton? Who's she?

I think she's usurped the popularity of "generic democrat."

What do you suppose the code word is between Hillary and Bill? The one that she texts are leaves on a voicemail that tells him to set in motion the machine for her insurgent primary challenge?

I'm betting it's not cigar.

tim maguire said...

If this encourages her to resign and gear up for a 2012 primary challenge, so much the better. But how does her performance as Sec. of State justify improved ratings?

Mick, if this was a fictional narrative, the editor would send it back to the author with notes and complaints about Mick being a one-dimensional, implausible character.

Et tu, Bubba?

I've thought this since she accepted the job as SoS.

Scott,

When he nominated her, my first thought was that one day, he would regret his decision. Bill and Hillary are not his friends.

This is the second time that I had to type this because BLOGGER SUCKS!

Deborah she has no chance, not now, not ever. She foolishly blew it. Unless there is a miraculous economic recovery it's hard to imagine the democrats (Obama) maintaing the white house in 2012. Unless the republicans do something something awe inspiringly stupid like having Pat Buchanan as the republican nominee for president. As for 2016 the only democrat who would have a prayer of getting elected would be a governor who took on the unions and corrected the fiscal mess in his state. Without that visible evidence of substance no democrat would stand a chance. There is no democrat today in the senate that has a credible chance. If Cuomo in NY (maybe he learned something after causing the American taxpayer over one trillion dollars as HUD secretary) brings a measure of fiscal sanity to NY State he might be a credible candidate in 2016.

Again as to Hilary she is as Eric agreed a fool (as an aspirant to higher office). On the other hand maybe she isn't quite as foolish as I thought if her end goal is to rack in some more serious money as a speaker/lecturer on foreign policy and be an advisor to large companies, a gig Henry K and a few other former secretaries of state have turned into a lucrative venture. As long as Bill is ambulatory one never knows when the next bimbo eruption will occur and perhaps Hillary has determined having Bill cavorting around the white house with interns is just too much to contemplate. Can't say I blame her if that were to be the case why she finally took herself of the roster for the democrat future presidential line up. But then again, maybe I posit to much astuteness to her.

I bet it's "Foster".

"Hillary Clinton Favorable Near Her All-Time High"

I imagine there are a number of politically astute explanations for this. But none of them possibly could be based on anything that she's actually, you know, accomplished in her role as Secretary of State.

...unless I missed something.

You mean the time she said there were "worse things" than adultery (maybe like child abuse) and started talking to the dead, right?

You must because, as far as I know, that where her so-called "competence" came from. Funny how that happens. Let a guy swear, because he's frustrated the country is going downhill and people aren't making sense, and he may be blocked from ever doing anything. Let a woman publicly lose her fucking mind and indulge in witchcraft and they hand her Secretary of State, tied with a bow, and a promise her daughter can get one two when she wants it.

Wonderful thing, politics.

Sorry about the misspellings, no coffee yet.

I don't think 69 is too old, but it will take Obama losing in '12 and the Republican president doing poorly and all sorts of other minor miracles. As we know, anything can happen.

As far as challenging him in '12, it would take a major scandal to unseat him and the msm not to burn her by rallying around the Republican...which I still think would have happened if she had won the nomination. Suddenly, McCain would have become attractively mavericky.

Too bad she and the other two national-security-ladies in the administration own the decision for the Libyan adventure, else she'd be in a great position to run a rear-guard against Barry in '12 -- and would probably have walked to victory in such a case, given the paucity of the GOP field.
