"Stop the Insanitea/Stop Mama Grizz."

At the protest yesterday, you could express yourself... about stopping other people from expressing yourself. I don't know what inspired the guy with the corrugated cardboard sign around his neck, but just before this picture was taken, the other guy, the seemingly mellow guy with the Strand bookbag, was yelling at the Tea Party speaker "You don't know what you're talking about." He didn't sound angry at all though. He sounded intellectually — comically — distanced from the entire scene. To me (maybe because I feel intellectually — comically — distanced at these things).

He looks vaguely like he's trying out for Bert Lahr's role in The Wizard of Oz.

I wanted to keep up with the happenings in Madison yesterday, but I had to clean up the water damage from the storms that blew through NC and the rest of the South Friday night. Dishes, laundry, tidying up the house, spending some one-on-one time with my younger kid, trying (unsuccessfully) to get the mower started for the season, and topping the evening off with a local theater company's rendition of "The Sound of Music" prevented me from paying much attention to events northward.

When do these people have time to devote to...what cause is it???... What do their houses, lawns, and garages look like? Given their fixation on...what cause is it, again???...are they devoting any time to intellectual maintenance or development?

They are real Nowhere People, sitting in their Nowhere Land, etc.

Some of these guys looked like they hit the pot pretty heavy before going to the rally.

Breitbart has some video from Portland OR yesterday that should make some good campaign video although they are too raw for TV.

Some good statements about their opinion of America.

I don't think TEA means what the anti-protesters think it means.

Guy with The Strand bag was perhaps mellow and did not want the Tea Party to harsh his mellow?

The guy who wants to stop the insanity doesn't look completely sane himself.

He certainly looks in control of his faculties.

Is it ironic that the guy holding the sign looks sorta bat shit crazy?

Is that the "So easy a caveman can do it" guy?

Maybe someone should start a blogsite called "People of Leftist Protests" to go along with the "People of Walmart" site. The main difference in the pictures might be that the Walmart shoppers really hardly ever look outraged to the point of insanity.

Has Hollywood realized that one of the Ewoks escaped?

When we get to know each other, I will share the very sad story about my second cousin once removed of a vital organ that was not her heart...thank god!

For now? I can only say that she had a well loved pet that outlived her most precious "someone" by a credit card payment.

In her personal sadness, she has found the "spirit" to petition her credit card company for the "heart" to not bill monthly.

If she can save just ONE other person from her own month's loss...well, they will not lose a loved one, or two... NOR owe a thing until June.

This is how Americans dress.

The only sad detail, when you know denim is an American fabric that everyone in the world wants to wear ... is that we no longer make jeans in the USA.

But the jeans. The parkers. The outfits. The sneakers. You'd find this all over this great country.

Did you notice how few kids are brought here, though?

When I was a kid in the early 70's, the Vietnam/Environment/etc. protesters liked to fantasize that "the workers" were on their side. In reality "the hardhats" as they were called at the time, were real-life Archie Bunkers who harassed "long-haired hippies" whenever possible.

But the Lion and Lamb now lie down together. Union thugs and college dudes/dudettes have finally ended up on the same side of the political divide, at least superficially.

What should we call these strange bedfellows? Drugs & Thugs? Losers and Bruisers? You guys take it from here.
