"Althouse can analyze anything, anything, for untested assumptions and bullshit."

Said commenter John Lynch, after reading my analysis of the Katy Perry video "Roar."

This post was good, but it needs a bit more self-promotion.

And yet, you're here. Why?

It's fun. Don't pretend that you're the only one who likes needling the complacent.

And the reading's not too difficult, either.

Glad to be of service. ;-)

She analyzed a Katy Perry video?

Hmm..I guess by "anything" John Lynch means "anything that very few people would bother to read about."

Good observation R&B. I wonder if the students have to call her "Maestro?"

Well, it was once alleged that Glenn Beck plays with his poop.

We should be grateful that instead of indulging the usual conspiracy theories of the right-wing, Professore Althouse directs her social magnifying glass onto pop culture marginalia.

The video uses autopitch or whatever it's called, which takes all the musicality out of it.

Automatic correction of the singer's pitch.

It goes into autoawful.

I think it's called autotune.

Just about anything.

But not anything.

I invite everyone to think deeply about where the assumption tester and BS detector don't work.

Well, this post brought out the haters, didn't it?

Why come here then? Why are you here if you don't like Althouse?

One time, before I met him, I had to say to Meade: "Why do you even read this blog?" (Because he didn't seem to get my tone.)
