I noticed Jane the Actuary is blogging on Patheos now. Neat!

If Jane the Actuary and Freeman Hunt had a co-blog I would read it every morning.

And I would comment.

Oh how I would comment.

I am Laslo.

I don't know if it's been discussed before but what does Meade shoot these photos with?

MadisonMan said...

Tank, perhaps you should be in Anchorage. Fate has thrown you into the cold and snowy portion of the Globe.

Meade said...

@mishu, I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ70.

Scott Walker has peaked and he will only go down from here.

This makes me sad, as I wanted pretty badly to like Walker.

But all signs point to, he's not our guy.

I just picked up a 1918 Victor Tool Co. patternmakers vise. Might not do anything for you but I'm thrilled.

A word of support for the crew of the Starship Enterprise. Over the years they've occasionally been hammy, but they're remarkably free of scandal. I don't regard Shatner's skipping of his friend's funeral as much of a scandal. By and large, the crew and officers have lived up to the ideals and goals of the Starship Federation, and they have repaid the loyalty and affection of their fans with interest......Their virtues become especially apparent when you consider the flaming inconsistency between the lives and spoken words of the casts of other television shows......I'm thinking especially of Cosby but the Brady Bunch also were not who you hoped they would be. Hogan's Heroes, Desi & Lucy. The characters they played on tv had nothing to do with their real character.....It's a low bar but here's to the crew for exceeding it.

So in violation of Federal law Hillary Clinton used only a personal email account for all her State Department emails. Her people have now turned over those they deem to be State Department emails (except those that may have been deleted, of course) and have turned over to the Congress those that they deem to be related to Benghazi.

Of course this requires some element of trust that they've turned over everything relevant. And we'll never know what was deleted--because there's no backup of the emails, as there would be for official emails (something that only recently came to light in connection with Lois Lerner emails, after two years of being assured by the IRS that no backup tapes existed).

Hillary's determination to stay in control of documentary evidence isn't new. From 1994 to 1996 she stonewalled the Whitewater Special Counsel's subpoena for Rose Law Firm billing records, which she said didn't exist until they turned up in the White House private quarters by an end table.

How much heat will she take in the media? My prediction: next to none.

She didn't 'possibly' break the rules, she ignored them.

Laws are for little people. There is only one reason why she would do such a thing and that would be to hide things.

*still wondering where that 6 billion went missing*

Just want to say how much I appreciate Althouse and this blog. She has a great knack of blogging about provocative things, some of which I find tedious, but still part of a wonderful curiosity about the political and cultural dynamics of present-day America. I especially enjoy her calling out the games of the MSM. The commentariat is an essential part of the enjoyment; it's the only blog whose comments I also read regularly. Thanks, Ann, for this blog and your unique vision. And thanks, Meade, for being a regular commenter.

Is it blue and black or white and gold?

Well, there are obvious white balance problems.
