Apparently Romney predicted a Wis v Duk final. The1 predicted UK v. Vill. Not sure I need my president to be this good at sports but he certainly shouldn't be a straight line thinker with a huge ego.

Go Badgers.

MadisonMan said...

I hope UW wins.

I wonder if the Duke 88 or whatever they were called -- who signed the letter -- are rooting for the basketball team.

Curious George said...

Could both teams lose?

Fen said...

And push that "other" thread down down down into the memory hole.

Big Mike said...

@FleetUSA, apparently Romney's bracket puts him in the top 99.98 percentile.

But he picked Duke.

traditionalguy said...

J J Watt was on the sideline. Wisconsin is intimidating the Dukees.

Grant said...

I went to Duke, but I'll be OK if Wisconsin wins.

traditionalguy said...

Frank the Tank is rolling now. The Duke superstars are getting mad at that treatment...that damned white boy.

Patrick said...

So Romney has to settle for 96.98 percent. He can live with that.

Guildofcannonballs said...

The missed free throws.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Trayvon seems to be one of the best ball handlers in Badger history with this many big turnovers.

I think coach should say "relax" and have some fun out there. Seriously, it's just a ball game.

Have some fun.

Buckley said he "knows my redeemer liveth."

Guildofcannonballs said...

Good God I misquoted the great man.

Buckley said "I know that my Redeemer liveth."

Guildofcannonballs said...

Much more interesting and realist (WFB is not, has never been, nor ever will be God or have his own planet or none of that) than Danny and his Fake Bible tales would be a Buckley gone Playboy.

He saw the numbers, wrote about it, and described in great detail why he chose Christ.

Good start for the second half :-)

Anybody got some Bach up in this *++**%#<'?

Althouse is more than a forum, more than a public house of words written, more than others who have tried to do what has been done here.

So Obama was correct Althouse didn't build this.

Such is the wisdom of The Prince.

Italian named Machiavvelli or something.

The Duke of ........ Is very comparable, with cause reasonable, to Jeb Bush.

Loving Wisconsin tonight. Mainly comes from hatred of legacies/dynasties/golden boys/etc.

Badgers are just a breath of fresh air. Loved seeing the difference in the hometowns. WI is mostly actually FROM Wisconsin. Duke from all over.

traditionalguy said...

CBS announcers sure love every move the Duke super stars make.

And the refs are trying to give Duke the foul calls every time there is a doubt now.

Wisconsin will earn this one.

David said...

Can't stand to watch.

traditionalguy said...

These refs are corrupt. That many wrong calls is no accident?

Birches said...

Grant Hill is on the broadcast team.

Patrick said...

Lotta red in that stadium

Temujin said...

This is the time of legends.

Tim said...

No questionable calls going for wisc but plenty for duke.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Fair enough.

No escapes just pain.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Not the first time I appreciated the fact I dropped.

I Callahan said...

That was disappointing. As a Spartan fan, I was hoping for a Big 10 win.

Oh well. Next year.

David said...

Zebras beat Badgers!

Ann Althouse said...

Sad!

Curious George said...

Goofy Frank ain't dancin' and laughin' now.

Big Mike said...

@Meadhouse, I'm sorry Romney was right once again. It was a good game, and your Badgers had a great season.

Michael said...

Great effort. Very rare for a college team to do that well against pros.

Patrick said...

Disappointing, but a great seasonand a terrific group of guys. Did our state proud. Good bless 'em.

sunsong said...

Dang it...

Big Mike said...

@David, I thought so too. Living in the Commonwealth of Virginia and getting ACC basketball on the local TV I've seen Coach K work the refs time and time again. He knows how to do it.

Original Mike said...

Congratulations on a hell of a season, Badgers.

Guildofcannonballs said...

The Prince describes a lot of things, and to start with, one of the thus described bespoken betraying persons' actions had some wisdom to back him up.

Alright.

Okay.

You know what I'm saying?

Noam Sayenen.

Curious George said...

At least they didn't lose 59-0.

sane_voter said...

How many times did Duke "accidentally" hit Wisc players in the face/head? I guess every time you go up for a shot just bring your arms down across the head of the opposing player.

Oops, did I do that?

sane_voter said...

Wisc needed to be hitting on all cylinders to win but Dekker seemed out of it most of the game. His stats tonight were ok, but he was not a dominant presence like in the previous two games.

Hammond X. Gritzkofe said...

Althouse said "Sad."

Yes, but yet still much to be proud of. You are still loved, Badgers.

Kirby Olson said...

Winslow clearly touched the ball before it went out. That changed the momentum of the game. Therefore, Wisconsin really won. Ha ha. ROFL. I liked the game. Kaminsky looked a tad sluggish toward the end, but it was Grayson Allen for Duke who had a terrific game and pulled it out for Duke.

Guildofcannonballs said...

My brain was with the Badgers, mso I deserve extra scorn and mockery and ridicule.

Like fucking 2012 again, that shit year.

2022 is gonna be my year. Until then I shall neither drown nor starve.

But I will understand the college mindset, as The Prince Machiavvelie would have told you had you read that particular.

Guildofcannonballs said...

I rarely knew, but have been in-person instructed in, perhaps to me the only way, once I epipheminalised upon it, instincts which Feminists beat out of me.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Fact is I've been a huge fan of second once I considered the choosers of such and their unbounded idiocy.

Guildofcannonballs said...

What people once used to know, Realpolitik, people do 't know no more.

Reagan isn't to blame for this, try as hard as they mighted against him.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Oh shit I meant "Bush."

So you see, my blind ideology and thirst for blood determines for me what The Prince by Macchvlllia or whatever talked about.

David Begley said...

Jones and Adams won it for Duke.

Tough loss, but a great season.

Scott said...

All Wisconsin should be proud of this team. Throughout, they showed class, commitment and self deprecating humor. I'm proud to be a Badger!

Sigh...another Battle of the Pissants....another "victory", another "defeat"...that will be remembered for a couple of days or so.

Meanwhile, the battle against totalitarianism in America grinds on....while the existential battle against ISIS is just ramping up.

I'm guessing the Madison residents are a lot more concerned about the former, than than the latter.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Fact is if Barry wanted to it costs.

Barry didn't want it; how do you?

Phil a knight? Beat Barry forever more.

For a highly successful man that's something, though idiots appreciate.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Too dumb, Reagan lost in1976.

Americans are, as our world knows and has known for some time, Americans.

This is sile enough for Law professors to cogitate and Morley henceforth understand.

Guildofcannonballs said...

I have witnessed first hand the glory of decency/forgiveness.

To witness this is something else most extraordarily beautiful. I do in fact feel unworthy of Will Buckley and his contributions to the patrimony I have failed to match.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Why hasn't Buckley, beyond his words written, or spoken on Firing Line, or the NRO for that matter, "pushing old ladies to the side" or some such.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Henry Hazlitt?

Fair enough.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Through the decades...

Then through the centuries....

Then through today if you are happen to be fortune enough to be Catholic.

It ain't hard.

Guildofcannonballs said...

Even the great Noah Feldman does xyz.

He done did the done darn ABC's and Gram Parson's-wise duded.

Guildofcannonballs said...

If Hugh Hewitt, slaughterer of those unpowerful in chief, declaims perhaps somehow maybe ethanol doesn't kill, well then that sounds too Catholic!!!

How about we all joke and joke some more?
Then get a "Catholic" to support starving brown children?

Ethanol, surely get's those riches, morality surely stops Hugh's Hell.

It's not up to me, God has had it figures out all through time.

Guildofcannonballs said...

But the money was paid to the Sotuh Park dudes such that they are America and G. Wash etc.. be fucked.

Okay, where do my spoils enjoin this anarchy?

Guildofcannonballs said...

I know why the Iowa's hate themselves.

They, as shit-Americans, chose for all-time to dither ensconsced in shit..

The proud NCAA lights would lead the weak: only to shit.

The Godly light of Truth leads forever.

I am a Northwestern Wildcat and aside from wanting the B1G to win, I was really pulling for the Badgers because they just seemed like a great bunch of kids. Tough to lose I know but the Badger Nation should be proud of what this team accomplished.

Yesterday, I wrangled a new 40-inch TV into my Wrangler for a good view of the game. I'm sorry the Badgers lost, but it was great entertainment. Both teams can be proud.

MadisonMan said...

Oh well. Thanks for the run ride.

Joe Schmoe said...

Sad to see them lose. The Duke guards, especially Tyus Jones, came up real big at the end.

Francisco D said...

Both teams were well coached and have classy, talented, hard working players. Someone had to win.

I wish it had been the Badgers, but I congratulate Coach K and his squad.

Bay Area Guy said...

Great ride Wisconsin! To beat Arizona, Kentucky & Duke to win it all was a tough order. But you did fantastic.

Hats off to Coach K and the Duke kids who stepped it up a notch in the 2nd half.

Oh Yea said...

Blogger Francisco D said...classy...players.

I guess you didn't listen to he Wisconsin postgame news conference.

rhhardin said...

I went this long without finding out who won. See timestamp.

furious_a said...

Don't get the complaints about the refs -- foul disparity was only 13-15 in Duke's favor and two of Duke's starters, incl their best defender (Okafor) languished on the bench with four fouls each.

The 2nd half spark for Duke was Allen off the bench when Wisc was up *9* and pulling away, not the oh-so-close out-of-bounds call.

Birches said...

While I agree Allen was a beast, I can't understand how that call was missed WITH the replays. It was the most obvious thing I've ever seen. Those refs were incompetent. Truth is, Wisconsin didn't play very well at all, and they still almost won. They should have played better. But I'd be pissed about that out of bounds call too.

Yancey Ward said...

Too bad the Wisconsin team that played Saturday night was missing in action last night, but then that is exactly what I predicted here just two days ago. It is a big disadvantage to play the second and marquee game on Saturday. Kentucky did the exact same thing last year.

Curious George said...

"Oh Yea said...

This. Bunch of whiners. Starting with their coach.
