Alinsky's tactics are just tools.

Everyone who wants to be involved in politics needs to be familiar with them. Everyone who wants to accomplish political things needs to know how to carry them out.

Pick a target. Freeze it, personalize it, ridicule it, and destroy it. That's the key lesson.

Republicans should stop whining about how Democrats raped Bristol Palin's privacy. Republicans should, instead, work on raping Ashley "cokehead" Biden's privacy.

Whose penis has been up inside Ashley Biden? Whose tongue has been on her vagina? What drugs is she using, and how often is she using them? I want to know. I have every right to know. This is America, after all. We need to stop being whiners and start being positive. We need to HAVE FUN (that's one of Alinsky's rules).

Wasn't it Stalin youth camp?

I realy think this whole thing is a very unfunny joke. JournoList is a private- "secret"- chat board for AAAA Liberal reporters- scribblers actually; said reporters who demand transparency of everone else.

Why would anyone with a modicum of intelligence take people like these seriously?

Peter V. Bella said...

Actually Daryl,
We do want to know all about Biden's tramp daughter. We do know she is a police hater and a police fighter. We do know that she has used her daddy's cout to get her out of trouble before.

If the Bidens of this world can demonize others, we are entitled to vet and demonize them.

I will bet you will weep real tears of grief and sorrow when that murdering bastard Ted Kennedy goes to hell.

Looks like the Hollywood liberals that dominate the comedy business don't have much to fear.

Why do that to yourself?

Shoot. Girls know how to do that in junior high school. That's how you make other girl's lives and geekoid boys lives a living hell on earth in school. It comes naturally.

Only a guy would think he made some big discovery. Piffle.

Brevity is the soul of wit?

Not any longer, it seems.

Olbermann is funny
sometimes but insufferable. He was really unfair during the primaries
-- like calling Katie Couric the worst person in the world when she
made some quite mild remark I think about sexism in the media

The whole thing is funny and revealing. I have wondered about the thought processes of a man (and his audience) who periodically chooses a "worst person in the world" as Olbermann does. Since I don't watch his show I don't know his selection criteria but the concept itself seems very 6th gradish.

I saw this yesterday. Funny. :)

It reminded me of this: WW2 if it took place as an online wargame.

Peter, I wasn't being sarcastic.

The only way out is forwards. We can't go back and undo the damage that's been done. We can only use the same weapons against them that they've been using against us.

It is completely wrong that it's out of bounds that Al Gore's son is a drunk-driving lout and Joe Biden's daughter is a coke head but Sarah Palin's kids are fair game.

I won't even ask how Mary Jo Kopechne feels about any of this.

Rev,

LOL you suk! That was the funniest thing I have seen all week. Did you scroll down and see the animated version?

If your not into MMORPGs you may not get all the nuance but DBQ, Hoosier and the other WOW players here will definitely enjoy it.

We'll know we're a free country again when Obama-ridicule - so richly deserved but so far suppressed by fear - flourishes.

Oh, please. If you think that Obama-ridicule is suppressed by fear (perhaps your own fear?), that says more for the state of your nerves than anything else.

DBQ FTW.

Peter V. Bella said...

We will be back to normal again when Olbermann makes Obama his worst person in the world and Matthews becomes serious instead of gushing like a hormone raging teenaged girl.

So Iowahawk is still around trying to ingratiate himself with the popular kids?

Ten years ago he followed them around from site to site trying to impress them with his second-rate humor.

Nothing's changed.

Yep :)

And I agree that it is even funnier if you actually do a lot of online gaming.

HA HA HA HA!

That was very funny. The bits where Isaac Chotiner talks about going bald and Josh Marshall admits to body issues made me laugh so hard I was afraid I'd wake my housemates.

I almost never comment because by the time I read these entries all the good comments have been made. But this time you guys missed the most obvious point.

The parody makes the journoList-ists more sympathetic and human than the actual comments.

It is unfair to go after young Palin but not after young Biden or young Gore. However, it is not right to go after any of them.

It is very dangerous to say, "The bad guys do it. Therefore, we have to do it."

Didn't some famous person say it wasn't worth gaining the whole world if you lost your soul?

Standard Liberal Response- That's not funny or that's mean. However, its funny to ridicule conservatives.

Standard "Reasonable" Conservative Response- That's not funny. We shouldn't be getting down to their level. We need to sober and responsible. We should be talking about the SS trust fund - not making jokes.

That reminds me, where's Simon?

Roger Sweeny said...

There's a difference between making jokes and fighting dirty. Ridicule can be a great thing. It's a proper thing when the target is ridiculous.

The left spent much of the Bush years telling themselves how mean and nasty and dirty they would have to be because after all, the hateful Republican and conservatives were doing it all first.

I refuse to spend the next four years, let alone the next eight, doing the same thing.

rcocean said...

The problem with "reasonable" conservatives is they only get upset at our side. You only have to read Hewitt, Frum, Patterico, et al to see the pattern.

Funny how the liberals, the respectable ones, never seem too concerned about the "nastiness" of Maher, Olbermann, Klein, Kos, etc. while the "reasonable" conservatives are constantly attacking Rush, Beck, Coulter, Iowahawk, etc. for not being little Lord Fauntleroys.

What a great deal for liberals - Heads I win, tails you lose.
