Hello, Dali!

(Somebody had to say it.)

I wasn't aware you had a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. The blog really lets you show all your facets (well, almost all), doesn't it?

Hey Ann,

How about another post on how McCain lost you while we're awaiting our gigantic ass-fucking by Nancy Pelosi and her pedophilic US Congress.

That would be a nice trip down memory lane.

Tell us again why you voted for Barack Obama?

Apropos the House vote, I'm reminded of something H.L. Mencken once wrote:

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats."

Since it's taken all day long and into the evening to actually vote, Pelosi Galore may not have the votes she thought she did. Steny Hoyer has said that all along.

In any case, be nice. It's up to us Palin-loving, Tango-hating, McCain-voting-despite-our-misgivings, Dubya-and-the-troops-supporting conservatives to show the trolls how civilized people act and discuss.

They spend all their time on Kos and Puffington. They don't know any better.

Yea, but I need a good laugh. I need to hear again how Barack Obama is going to be better for the country.

Florida...I appreciate your zeal for fighting words, but permit me to give some wise counsel. You will open yourself to avoidable attacks from many of your potential allies if you openly threaten doing violent acts. Don't you remember how MLK used non-violent protests and won the hearts and the minds of good people. When the government attempts to outlaw guns it will be said to be based upon threats of violent acts. So please don't give the enemy so much easy ammunition to use against the people like me who are on your side.

Althouse,

In case you didn't know, 3 of the Ft Hood dead come from Madison and its surrounds.

Sgt. Amy Krueger, 29, of Kiel, Wis. She was assigned to the 467th Medical Company, Madison, Wis.

Capt. Russell Seager, 41, of Racine, Wis. He was assigned to the 467th Medical Company, Madison.

Maj. Libardo Caraveo, 52, of Woodbridge, Va. He was assigned to the 467th Medical Detachment, Madison, Wis.

Ironic mission considering how they died.

4 Victims Came From Same Madison Unit

By Michael George

MADISON - Four of the five Wisconsin soldiers killed or injured in the Fort Hood attacks came from the same unit: the Army Reserves' 467th Combat Stress Detachment out of Madison.

The unit is trained to help soldiers overcome issues including post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as assist soldiers who are headed to or headed back from a combat zone.

It was a somber day at the 467th medical detachment's Madison office. News came in Friday that Russell Seager and Amy Krueger had been killed, and Dorothy Carskadon and Grant Moxon had been injured in the attack. More than 40 members of the unit were sent to Ft. Hood just a week ago, according to Governor Jim Doyle. Doyle says he will reach out to the families.

Hey, whatever happened to non-violent Martin Luther King?

I'm more of an H.L. Mencken fan and less of a victim.

Muslim terrorist Malik Hasan attended the exact same mosque (at the same time) as two of the 9/11 terrorist hijackers.

They also had the same radical spiritual adviser.

Here's the story of how Hasan is connected to the war Muslims are waging against us. You won't find the story in the New York Times ... they're too busy pushing the ridiculous Post-Traumatic-Stress-Syndrome Theory as a way of providing aid and comfort to the murderers of US citizens.

London's Telegraph brings us the real news:

"Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.

The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.

The wood of the willow, when dry, is very light, weak and easy to split. It burns fast without much heat. Toss a bunch in the woodstove with a hunk of black locust, however, and you just may melt the chimney.

Althouse may touch on this today, but last night late as I checked out the votes, there was the bit about how President Obama lauded the Fort Hood dead for their willingness to sacrifice, so the reps, in voting for this monstrosity, in defiance of their consituents' wishes, should not fear a little thing like losing their Congressional seats.

This man is craven.

The depth of his shallowness is breathtaking.

We truly have some variety of sociopath in the White House today.

"We truly have some variety of sociopath in the White House today."

The man is doing exactly what he said he would do in order to secure the votes of thoughtful people such as Ann Althouse.

I don't see why, from his perspective, he should change course. This is the change he promised them to get their votes (how could he see it any other way).

He wants to run for re-election, rigt? Why shouldn't he think he's doing exactly what his Althousian voters sent him to Washington DC to do?

Is he a narccistic sociopath? I think a better question would be do polite people with tenure, such as Ann, even care about that sort of shit.

(1) Great photos, of course.

(2) Willow tea is one of the best things for growing new plants from cuttings. In fact, willow is so chock full of regenerative goodness that you can take willow sticks and shove them into the mud and many of them will grow into new trees. Meade knows all this already, of course.

(3) “Had I known I’d live this long I’d have taken better care of myself.” The first person I ever heard say that was Grace Slick. She didn’t invent it, of course.

Looks like Liz is ahead of the troops on the Health Care bill! Wow!

Here I was, thinking, it's 10:57 AM on a Sunday, and Ann Althouse hasn't even put up a post yet... having left yesterday's "Talk amongst yourselves" post to wither in the willows, so to speak. How uncharacteristic!

And then I realized, just how crafty will the blogress have to be to piece together a big, long scathing post that spins the passage of yesterdays legislation as one or more of the following:

1. A failure for Obama?

2. A failure for America?

3. A win for Republicans and the wingnuts propelling that party ever right-ward?

And I though bin Laden takes a long time to hatch plots.

Maybe a video-blog (vlog) with a cave as a backdrop will help stir the creative juices!
