The view from St. Peter's Dome.

The highest point in the Chequamegon National Forest.

Looking north, toward Lake Superior (which you can see a little strip of). I love the light green spot, which corresponds to the break in the clouds.

ADDED: Meade prompted me to make a video of a patch of sunlight snaking over the landscape. So here it is, 3 minutes of just that:

Obama endorses the building of the mosque in lower Manhattan.

Anybody believe NOW that he gives a shit about what America thinks? He is praying that he only has to serve one term.

I heard that place was going to pot.

Saint Peter's Dome, indeed.

The patch of light, the hand of God.

Very nice, Madame.

So, out of curiosity, just how many miles did you log on the North Country National Scenic Trail?

Wisconsin holds the most completed miles on this trail from New York to North Dakota.

Aren't you tempted to spend a summer hiking the whole thing? It doesn't present the vertical challenge of the Pacific Crest or Appalachian trails.

I'm not sure if we did anything more than intersect with it at one or 2 points. That's quite a trail... it will be more than 2x the length of the Appalachian Trial. I hadn't heard about it until this past week.

There's also the Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin.

Keep in mind that I have never camped. It would be a big step for me to camp out and keep walking!
