"Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in talks to become the president of the World Bank..."

Hmmm.

ADDED: So... Hillary disaggregates herself from Obama, moves off to a lofty and distant place, from which she can observe American political events unfolding, and... if it becomes necessary, if Obama implodes or goes LBJ on us, she is there, ready to be the Democratic candidate for President in 2012.

A complete economic illiterate running the World Bank. Why not? What could go wrong?

She handled the Rose law firm books, so she's got that goin for her.

What everybody else said. She's such an expert on health care, education, the law, and legislation, fiscal policy should be a snap for her.

PS Troop, does that make Huma the woman scorned twice, or only once?

Zero chance he LBJs.

Almost no chance she runs, although I understand why she wants to. I'm certainly rooting for it.

And Barack for UN Secretary General.

Why not?

One can dream.

A world led by incompetents.

So President Perry / Cain / Palin can bring American back to home base and tell the world not to hold the train to perdition for us.

Hopefully she's learned that you can't do the staff, and then get them a good pay deal. And, you can't do hotel staff, sans an invitation.

If she can manage that she'll have the last two beat.

The world bank, then, is about to go kaput.

First, Wolfowitz went there to commit suicide. And, now Hillary is in talks for a "soft landing?" While Gingrich cruises the Mediterranean, and laughs, along with his wife.

2012 will probably end up being the YEAR OF THE INDEPENDENTS.

For Lincoln? The nation was divided. Now? Both houses are lousy with corruption.

weiner's weiner is just the tip of the iceberg.

Oh, and if Hillary moves overseas ... I expect so, too, will Huma.

What good reason does Hillary have to come home?

Being President of the World Bank has pretty much been something to do after your U.S. political career is over, especially if you feel the need to propitiate the demigods of DC. (Think McNamara and Wolfowitz.) All this seems to do for Hillary is give her plenty of quality time in DC with Huma as her new Special Assistant while Bill and Little Anthony hang out in NY. It's a much lower-stress job than SoS.

You all forgot the cattle futures. Surely, any woman who can translate a $1,000 investment into $100,000, just by trading in her spare time away from her work as a lawyer and wife of a state level politician, can do this job. And, she admitted knowing enough to make that profit by reading the WSJ. If she had said, she read the NYT instead, I would be suspicious. But, the WSJ? She must know what she is doing.

American voters will be so frustrated about the economy that they will probably vote for the wealthiest entrepreneurial candidate in the next presidential election. Prepare for the big upset, Mitt Romney as the 45th President of the USA, how surreal.

Obama do an LBJ? Seems unlikely.

But of course it never occurred to me (or anyone else, it seems) that LBJ would not run again.

I was in law school when Johnson gave that speech and watched it on my little black and white TV. It was a shocking moment. It has always seemed to me that LBJ's resignation led directly to Bobby Kennedy's assassination. Bobby was on the fence until Johnson quit.

I would recommend "The Politics of Meaning", by Daniel Graham, Jr., for anyone trying to understand the Clinton relationship. I own 2 copies, one signed by the author, the other unsigned. Hillary has a long history and is considered to enjoy "muching rugs"... but I digress.

Contrary to popular belief, God's last name is not "Damn" and the World Bank is not a bank. Supposedly, the "bank" gives away other countries' money to "needy" nations. These countries are all members of the International Monetary Fund which purportedly "loans" money to these same "needy" nations such as Greece, Ireland and the rest of the EU PIIGS. By definition, however, no loan is involved if no repayment is proffered.

As you can now understand, Hillary is the perfect president for World Bank, because she has always been the very best at redistributing taxpayer money to liberal causes.

Sarah America should withdraw the US from participation in these hidden foreign aid adventures immediately at noon on January 20, 2013.

But IF the trip was supposed to be to Libya, to end the war there. Or some such. She then goes about applying for the World Bank's job? What is Obama, chicken liver?

Meanwhile, Huma (who may be pregnant), is following the script of a George Kaufman FARCE, "TO THEE I SING." A musical that was on Broadway back in 1931. Or so.

It's the story of an American president, who dumps his french girl friend. To marry an American. And, when he's going to be impeached, his wife comes in, and says she's pregnant.

The first time around, it came with a great score! This time? Weiner's trot to the top has been turned into a poster picture for "the other party." (The one known as "the stupid party.)

Chip S. said...

Actually, I can see Weiner rolling to re-election if he uses "Posterity Is Just Around the Corner" as his campaign song:

Posterity is here and will continue!

The requirement of A2S1C5 is "natural born Citizen", not "native born citizen". "Native born" only means born in America, whereas "natural born" means born in America of 2 US Citizen parents. All natural born Citizens are native born, but not all native born are natural born.

We were given the choice of 2 ineligible candidates last election. McCain was born in Panama, and needed a statute to be a US Citizen. (USC 8 S 1403)http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode08/usc_sec_08_00001403----000-.html

Obama, even if born in the Oval office, would have needed the 14th Amendment to be a US Citizen, since he was born of a British subject father.

Natural born Citizens need no statute to become US Citizens, since they are born of the soil of 2 US Citizen parents. By Natural law they are US Citizens, what else would they be?

This story is wrong.

Reuters' sources never say that Hillary Clinton is in talks to do anything. The quotes in the story do not support the lead paragraph of the story.

Quotes:

Source 1: "Hillary would like to have the job."
Source 2: "Hillary would like to have the job."
Source 3: "Obama wouldn't mind if Hillary had the job."

None of these quotes supports the contention that Hillary is "in talks to become the president of the World Bank."

To be "in talks" one would have to quote sources showing her to be in communication with the board of directors of the World Bank.

She isn't.

She hasn't.

Do people even read these Reuters stories with any sort of a critical eye?

This story is horseshit and this post was slapstick for treating it as a serious piece of journalism.
