See? Too easy. Currently, it's okay to mock men, especially Males Of Pallor, fat people, Republicans, black republicans, gay Republicans, short Republicans, and closeted gays.

I'm not on the Progressive Facebook social networking notification list, so there may be more.

Oh, well...

Who expects sanity in a comments thread?

I saw plenty of "bitches be crazy" type comments too. And comments defending men in general.

Sorry, ST, there ain't no sanity clause.

Good think her husband didn't put his hands out to stop her from performing the dickectomy. His hands could have ended up around her neck and he would have been in real trouble,

If you're looking for some sort of gender (that godawful word) equality statement in this, Althouse, I think you're looking in the wrong place.

Men probably comprise 75-80% of the commenters on any Daily News story, just as they do here.

So, it's mostly men lampooning men.

We're not like women. We don't conspire well. Empathy for one another isn't one of our virtues.

I was watching this nature documentary the other night. When a male lion kills another male lion and takes over his pride (pack of lions), the first thing the victor does is to kill all the losers young offspring.

Our DNA is telling us to do this stuff. Other guy gets his dick cut off? Hoorah! More pussy for us!

ST, I think I'll be your wingman and let you have this one.

I made an error in my previous highly scientific observation. It should read:

Our DNA is telling us to do this stuff. Other guy gets his dick cut off? Hoorah! More pussy for me!

I'm not worried about you bastards. You can find your own pussy.

....and you can still have this one.

Maybe she thought he was a woman trapped in a man's body. So she freed her.

This is the reason people need to chose safe people in their relationships.

Comanche women were known for being much more gruesome torturers than the Comanche men. I'm not sure why anyone would think it odd that women can be torturers.

An excellent joke that illustrates how we men really think: Abdul the Painless Camel Castrator!

Come on, Althouse, when are you going to link to me? I can't be any more offensive than Crack.

He deserved it.

Men who are stupid enough to marry women deserve the torture they inflict upon themselves.

Perhaps more men will start paying attention and fewer men will have to immolate themselves on the courthouse steps and have their penises mutilated.

If you want your stuff ... if you want your money, your freedom, your cock, your manhood, your foreskin ... then don't marry a woman because once you do that, they own you, lock, stock and barrel.

Are you paying attention? Men?

It's a metaphor for our times.

I've never seen a more stark (GRRM book 5 out yesterday, btw) difference between the sexes as when observing a group of men or a group of women when a new, good-looking member of that same sex shows up, especially in the work place.

You get a bunch of women in an office and watch a young, hot new employee show up and watch them start tearing her apart before they ever meet her. In the same situation, a bunch of men will either not notice the "good looking hotness" of the new guy or will simply shrug it off in a respectful "well, he's getting laid a lot".

For the same exact reason that American Indians couldn't have possibly tortured anyone, ever, unless they were absolutely forced to by the white imperialists.

I heard a story one time about a woman, I don't remember which tribe, whose group was being attacked and they had killed her husband/bf...so she would lift up her dress and when the soldier was preoccupied club in the head with an ax. Apparently she did this many times before the soldier caught on and killed her first. Supposedly a true story.

The Lee Child novel "Gone Tomorrow" is based on this premise, except substitute Afghan women for Comanche women.

I'm not highlighting that it's odd that she did it, but that something that horrible creates a festive atmosphere.

I clicked over, and just the headline made me sick. Couldn't read more.

What if a man did something comparable to his wife? Would that be humorous to people?

Damn, it's been just a few days since the last "Crack Signal" went up.

I guess, now, it's officially my world and y'all just live in it, huh?

And to think, when I first got here, I was considered crazy:

I agree: whatever you think of ST (and, though we may disagree on some things, I think very highly of him) he ain't some pussy male hiding his shit - and that's what counts:

Don't be cruel (to a heart that's true)

This needs to be a capital crime. She should be hung by the neck until dead for doing this.

A few weeks ago I watched "In the Realm of the Senses" on HULU+. The choke scene seemed relevant to our WI Supreme Court situation, now the rest of the movie (based on a true story in Japan in the 1930's - they didn't have garbage disposals back then - the lady was forced to carry her "trophy" around for a few days) again becomes connected to current events. Warning - the actors did not "simulate" the sex scenes.

True of just about all tribes. The Iroquois, who lived in fixed communities and could do it over several days (or more), were legendary in that respect.

PS This is the same nevadabob who accuses all Catholic clergy of being homosexual, but says, "Men who are stupid enough to marry women deserve the torture they inflict upon themselves."

He needs to go back to moby school.

Oh puuuuleeeeeze, Ann.

Being a woman, you're obviously not experienced in having piece of your body cut off as people celebrate around you.

A bri is where they chop off a long piece of your penis, all while serving a catered lunch.

It's a festivus for the rest of us men.

Women are taught very early on what the value of a male penis is and how it's not really any big thing to mutilate a man.

She's a Becker pecker wrecker!

Just goes to show it's probably not smart to still be living with someone with whom one has filed divorce paperwork, which they apparently did back in May. If you're going to divorce, find some other place to live. The pecker you save may be your own!

Throwing it in the garbage disposal unit was a nice touch. At least she didn't feed it to the dog. That would be rude.....Women, with their subtle wit, are masters at playing into a man's castration anxieties especially when they're looking for the exit. They usually do it in a much more stylized and verbal way than Mrs. Becker. For example, they will spend way too much money and blame the financial woes on the husband's inability to make a decent living. Real men make real money....Mrs. Becker acts out the underlying threat that is present in the bickering that goes on in many marriages. At a certain level of intensity, tragedy becomes a farce. Mrs. Becker is a parody of an aggrieved woman and deserves all the ridicule that is heaped upon her.

Sofa King said...

Becker has been charged with aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse.

So...probation? Or would that be too harsh?

Scott M said...

Well, if the female teachers pedophiles and their outcomes are any guide, it really depends on how hot she is.

And the women come out to cut up what remains
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
And go to your god like a soldier"
