John Travolta did it with a lot more style in "Broken Arrow".

Who would've guessed Richards would outlive him?

Why, why, baby ,can't we get along?
If ain't deceivin' you, if you ain't deceivin' me,
Then someone else has lied to us.
Don't deny it.

O! O!

Save it for another day.
Don't save it for me.
If I ain't good enough for you,
Then maybe, baby, you ain't
Good enough, good enough, good enough for me.

YES, they do.

I knew a man who smoked outdoors mostly because his wife forbade it inside.

He had lung cancer, but he would not stop. He said why not enjoy the few months I have left.

Oh, come on, Keith's interview came first!

Mick, I was on stage for that performance in 1993, flimed for Japanese television 18 years ago. It was Keith's BEST recorded performance in my opinion.

What's with the gay pride bandanna?....and who in the hell ties bangles in their hair?

Jamaican hippy thing, I think, or you can try Japanese...

BONZAI

Go back and watch the whole song, very nice, one of my favorites in my head right now.

Locked Away (Ought to Be), as Keith says after his bow "you know the feeling"

She swears, that I'm the only one
What about yesterday, yeah
Oh! I'd like to believe
Somehow I still suspect

Locked away
She ought to be locked away
She ought to be locked away

My mind is racing
Footsteps lead me to jealousy
I'm loosing my grip
I can't trust the way I feel

Locked away
I ought to be locked away
I ought to be locked away

My friends say that you're friends say, Ooh
That I ain't worth your time
I know what you must hear
Don't let it interfere

Locked away
They ought to be locked away
They ought to be locked away
Locked away

We can't do anything
Any trick in the book
We can't go anywhere
All long as we care

We ought to be locked away
We ought to be locked away
Locked away...

We are also copying a hand held palm down at our chin level while telling a women that she is our wife's size...and watching them scream and faint.

Keith Richards! Smoking!

There goes the Republic!

Bob Scheiffer is shaking all over about now. He is so angry at the Stones that it is making him crave cigarettes again.

"Talk is Cheap" is one of the greatest albums no one knows about.
Saw him at the Fox in Atlanta when he did that tour.

The best smoker ever on tv was Johnny Sac in the Sopranos. Europeans smoke like girls.

Keith Richards, apparently.

"I wasn't looking too good but I was feeling real well"

Before They Make Me Run

Worked the bars and sideshows along the twilight zone
Only a crowd can make you feel so alone
And it really hit home
Booze and pills and powders, you can choose your medicine
Well here's another goodbye to another good friend

After all is said and done
Gotta move while it's still fun
Let me walk before they make me run
After all is said and done
I gotta move, it's still fun
I'm gonna walk before they make me run

Watched the taillights fading, there ain't a dry eye in the house
They're laughing and singing
Started dancing and drinking as I left town
Gonna find my way to heaven, `cause I did my time in hell
I wasn't looking too good but I was feeling real well

After all is said and done
I gotta move I had my fun
Let us walk before they make me run

After all is said and done
I did alright, I had my fun
I will walk before they make me run

What must it be like to be as famous as Richards or Lennon, and be partying together knowing millions of people would do almost anything to be there with you?

Fame is a weird thing that I don't think I could handle. It's just freaky.

Imagine being as famous as Michael Jackson, where nearly everyone in the world knows who you are and what you do, and millions even keep track of what you do on a daily basis. It sounds like torture to me... or Facebook.

If Cain becomes President, I hope he makes Richards the Surgeon General, cause that cat knows some secrets about living long and hot.

You offer me
All your love and sympathy
Sweet affection baby
It's killing me

'Cause baby baby
Can't you see
How could I stop
Once I start baby

How could I stop once I start
How could I stop
Yeah yeah
How could I stop once I start

You look at me
But I don't know what you see
A reflection baby
Of what I want to be

Whenever I listen to Keith Richards speak... arghh, how do I endure it? The listening is seldom and painful; the speech is an affront to every English spoken word since Chaucer.

Rockers just do not age gracefully. They lack wisdom and have no virtue. What an example they set.

O tempora, o mores.

Mick,

Couldn't tell. Car windows were closed due to cold weather...

Hoosier,

Alpine only had two concerts this year. Jimmy Buffet in June and Pearl Jam in September.

I saw the REO Speedwagon "You Get What You Play For" concert there. Oops, dated myself.

Once I saw a thing on the teevee showing an old man who made old-fashioned sturdy straw brooms by hand. It involved tugging real hard on twine woven between tufts of straw. Tug tug tug for eighty years straight. <-- possible exaggeration. He displayed fingers like Keith Richards. <-- possible exaggeration.

I saw them in 1975 at Chicago Stadium, 13th row, main floor smack dab in the middle. $100/ticket, which was a lot of money then, especially for a high school senior.

Worth every penny.

jeff said...

I saw them in Wichita about 4-5 years ago. $40/ticket. Was expecting a stripped down show of a bunch of old guys resting on their laurels. Instead they brought their entire stage and went for close to two hours. Impressive show for anyone, much less guys in their 60's.

Off topic, but does anyone here know what party Jon Corzine belongs to?

Except for the leather jacket, Richards is almost a dead ringer for my late departed Aunt Trudy. Same voice, same mannerisms, same wrinkles, and same cigarette.

Wince said...

I should have mentioned that a "theatrical exemption" is now needed to allow Keith to smoke on stage indoors in Boston.

re: smoking

I watched Casablanca the other night and nearly everyone smoked. Bogart and Bergman were better than advertised. Claude Rains, too! If movies were half as well written/acted as that was the theaters would be full and they wouldn't need CGI.

What if the sexually molested women are crackers?

I always go around feeling women's tits at my work and it is not a big deal.

But I do ask and they know I am a big fag. It's mutually enjoyable.

I love feeling soft as well as hard tits.

Althouse, you need to link to the video of Colbert with OWS and Ketchup, her supposed name.

It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
