Scott Walker agrees to 2 debates with Tom Barrett.

Barrett wanted 4.

The dates are May 25 and 31. Exciting!

BUT: Will Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch debate her opponent, Madison firefighter and president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, Mahlon Mitchell?

She will and she'll kick his big fire fighting butt.

Lincoln, Douglas, move over.

This may be ugly. When I was in 5th grade, the nuns took us on a field trip to the Amour slaughterhouse. Unthinkable now, but this may be a close approximation.

That was Armour, in Chicago.

Jason, indeed. Plus, seems like challengers almost always want more debates, even if they have more money.

Honestly, I wonder if these two debates will generate excitement and garner high ratings. You don't often here of millions of people tuning in to watch a gubernatorial debate.

It doesn't matter, Walker has already won.

This means you're worried Walker won't win.

I think Walker is going to win.
I think Romney is going to win.

Im all for any debates Barrett wants. I cant wait to actually hear his plan for the state's finances, or actually explain - since Act 10 was so bad - why he used it in Milwaukee.

I also hopes he harps on those jobs numbers until he's blue in the face, since the great majority of job loss in this state over the past 16 months has been in his city.

Michael Haz said...

Other than "I'm not Scott, and I want to raise the tax cap" what does Barrett have to offer?

garage mahal said...

As governor, Walker blames Obama, Barrett, Greece, debt ceiling debate, protesters, ObamaCare, and the confidence fairy. He even blames Barrett for job losses while he was county executive, a county he left near bankruptcy.

Anyone see a pattern?

Why does Wisconsin have a Lt. Governor's office? I know it's required per the Constitution, but what a waste it is.

If I were Mahlon Mitchell, my one campaign theme would be to abolish the office I'm running for. Name one thing Rebecca Kleefisch has done -- other than draw a salary -- while at her government job. Bonus points if you name something that has clearly benefited the state.

During her term as Lt. Gov not one Wisconsin citizen has become married to a clock, a table, nor a dog.

I ain't actually a fan of hers, but I gotta give her credit for keeping that campaign promise.

I'm surprised Walker agreed to any.

Yes. You remain full of shit.

Barrett had better do better in the debates than he did on his victory speech last night. Very uninspiring.

And Michael Haz wins the internets today.

She's been inspirational, a bit like Palin, showing that all women in Wisconsin politics need not be "Madison value" clones.

What is the job description of a Lt. Gov.? I don't think any of them have much to do.

Sounds just like Barbara Lawton. Oh, I guess Lawton did create "Barbara’s Guide for Penny Pinchers". Who could forget that.

I've read your Walker writings for some time and haven't agreed with much. I root for his ouster. However, I'm in agreement that it will indeed be exciting to hear these debates.

12th person granted immunity in John Doe case

I wonder if this will come up? 12 people so far granted immunity? Even Walker's spokesperson was granted immunity. Which is sort of handy, because he can't technically comment about anything the case either!

You'd think our liberal media would be hard at work demanding answers to all the many obvious questions.

2 year investigation, 12 people granted immunity...and they still havent gotten anything on Walker.

Keep dreaming.

I doubt if there's anyone in the State that will be moved by a debate. We've had 14 months to choose sides.

Maybe in the debates someone can ask Barrett how he lost 250 jobs from Frontier airlines today.

140 were flight crew, being moved to Chicago.

And the evening news here in MKE also said that MKE's unemployment rate went up 29% under Barrett.

Right after those announcements, Barrett had a commercial saying the election was all about jobs.

Great work so far, Tom.

The person who is trailing badly always wants more debates.......hoping for a gotchya moment. Barrett knows he needs that hugely right now.

Will Madison resident Mahlon Mitchell bring Sly from the radio along? The Lt Gov should bring up Sly's sexist rant during the debat. Hey, that is a thought. Can the Republicans find a direct tie between Mitchell and Sly?

You don't know that. Walker has already spent over 150k on lawyer fees. For what, you think? He is also the first governor in Wisconsin history to set up a legal defense fund.

garage, do you still molest 4 year old boys?

If Milwaukee DA Chisholm does anything in the next 4 weeks to derail Walker, it will be the most blatantly political use of prosecutorial misconduct any of us have ever seen.

We already elected our guy once, fair and square. Now we have to do it again, for no real reason other than policy disagreements.

If the hacks in Milwaukee cause Barrett to be elected by way of some trumped up charges against the Governor, the message will be clear: Wisconsin belongs to the unions, not the citizens.

The State will hemorrhage money, jobs, and businesses. The unions will be left to stab each other in the back, and we will all be poorer because of it.

SomeoneHasToSayIt said...

Word is, Barrett is going to run on his ability to deliver jobs, jobs, jobs.

He must then expect to be a Governor under a Romney presidency, as that is the only way Wisconsin jobs jobs jobs have any hope of coming back.

What have you been smoking. Your are projecting your own inability to form a cogent thought onto Walker.

By the way, do you know that Walker saved Wisconsin taxpayers 1 billion dollars? And he did it without raising taxes? Did you know that the teacher's union's own metrics show that school systems are better off under Walker's reforms?

As far as Mke county's finances, a honest person would note the Ament pension scandal the effects of which will NEVER be outgrown.

By the way, I drove down Appleton avenue last evening. The roads are simply awful. Driving in Barret's Milwaukee is like driving in the third world.

And our first real spring storm led to Barrett's sewage district releasing more untreated sewage.

http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/mmsd-reports-16250gallon-sewer-overflow-into-kk-river-4g5aqsb-150604465.html

This will be a fun debate.

The recall being about jobs is laughable. The recall started in February of last year, Walker had been in office a few months. This is about selfish and lazy public union workers wanting all their stuff back and the rest of us to pay for it. And for the thug union bosses...power. Period. I would press that message over and over and over. There is no shortage of videotape proving this point.

garage, there is a reason Walker was re-elected over and over in a county that has a majority of Democratic voters. Can you identify it?

Garage you're starting to sound like a bitter apparatchik. Just what did Walker do to Piss in your personal Cheerios?

How'd you do on opening day weekend?

Try Washington Blvd...that is Tom Barrett's street. Shortly after Barrett implemented a city-wide $15 wheel tax it got repaved. Fortunately, it works out for me to drive on it. It is quite nice.

Thanks Tosa Guy.

Its a snapshot of socialism.

- all will be equal... we are for the poor and the evil Republicans are not
- but we leaders know how to manipulate the system
- we will have the nice stuff
