"I have plenty of reservations about everything Obama’s doing now – I’m not so into domestic drones, I’m not so into spying."

Said the artist Shepard Fairey, whose advertisement for "HOPE" conned the world.

I did a Google images search on "hope" and Fairey's poster did not come up first. This did. It didn't even come up second. This bullshit did. It didn't even come up third. This treacle did. This dumb thing was fourth. And this insipidity came up fifth. Some lady's hands offering us "hope" written on a piece of paper is sixth. 7-13 are also not Fairey's Obama poster. 14 is a parody of the Obama poster:

I had to go all the way to the 18th hit to get to the Obama poster:

And here's the Wikipedia article on "Hope."
Hope is the state which promotes the desire of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one's life or in the world at large....
What a bad idea for a political slogan. Obviously... now.

Obama's name comes up near the top of this article, right next to this diagram:

We're told of some book that examines "Dealers in Hope," including Obama (and Moses) and says that a leader can "Lead Change and Shape Culture" "by creating a hopescape and harnessing the hope system," and if you look again at the diagram, you'll see the "hope diamond" to be made from that lump of coal labeled "adversity." Just get some voice and promises vectors going into your imagination machine.

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Romans 12:11-13

I think we are doing the affliction part now

At first I thought the diagram was supposed to be funny, and I laughed. It looked like the meteor of Adversity was about to smash through contraption of Hope.

A lot of people have reservations about the people they voted for. If Romney won, I doubt I'd have loved everything he did. But, this really feels kind of sad, like when a kid first beats his parents in a fair game and you see the kid realize his parents are getting older. That flicker of realization in the eight- or nine-year-old's eye that mommy and daddy will, no, must, one day die.

Here's the deal, diamonds don't come from coal, nothing remotely like that. So it's not realistic to portray anything as happening like that, even as a dopey analogy. Which, sadly, is a good description of the whole thing.

diamonds come from coal?

In a way they are.

Coal is CRUSHED, as carbon, into diamonds.

And so Obama wants to crush us to make his utopia paradise.

Keep in mind folks that progressives, like communist, don't mind lying, vote buying, cheating, etc.. to get their way. The ends justify the means in their world. And if that means some must die, then to them some must die.

It was obvious to me in 2008.

Hope is not a plan, or an agenda, or anything remotely concrete.

It was vapor from the start, and nobody who voted for "hope" has any Goddamn excuse.

(Voting for Obama for some other reason, sure, there can be excuses for that.

But "hope"? No.)

Judge each religion (i.e. moral philosophy) by the principles it engenders. They must be internally, externally, and mutually consistent in order to be viable.

Setting aside a progressive devaluation of capital and labor. Setting aside a progressive loss of privacy. Setting aside a progressive loss of liberty. Setting aside policies and regulations which sponsor progressive corruption. The greatest threat to our individual and mutual welfare is the degradation of human life to a commodity.

No unalienable right to Life implies no unearned privilege to medical care. As if rights and privileges are equivalent. People need to make better choices.

I looked at the pageant of Hope you presented. Fairey's poster is as gloppy as the others, but presented in a way hat appealed to hipsters. Perhaps grotsky refers to hip glop in the way that Trotsky was the hip kind of Stalinism.

Hope! Tastes great, less filling. Obama was thought to be a light worker, after all.

Damn, I wish the Guy Fawkes one had been around during my EdX copyright course last year. How meta is that?

BHO posited "Hope and Change" and then he stepped as far away from leadership and responsibility as possible like an echo feeding us pablum.

This is my favorite, based on the Tansformers cartoon from the 80s:

And then there's this:

All models are wrong. Some are useful. This one is not.

I suspect that the rarity of Fairey's "Hope" image in Google image search results is due to aggressive pursuit of DMCA/copyright takedown demands by the Associated Press. Fairey based the poster on a copyrighted AP photo, AP sued Fairey, and the court sided with AP. Subsequently, AP hasn't been shy about demanding compensation and threatening litigation when people use Fairey's poster.

Obvious, then too. The only one worse than that was Change. And he used that one too.

Dude, the google crowd are last-ditch Obama supporters, even now. Why wouldn't they be dicking with the search parameters as needed?
