"Perfect form, extension. I mean, doesn’t get fazed if there are people around. Oooo, look at the change in direction...."

(The announcer — at a Dolphins vs. Ravens game — is Tony Romo.)

Somebody tell those clowns it’s “fazed.” We’re doomed.

Seriously, let's maintain standards.

Cute.

I'm phased, too, Mr. Sports Announcer!

I corrected it, having cut and pasted from USA Today. But it's audio and can be transcribed independently, which I should have done.

I might have thought there was some football slang. It's correct to say that something is "phased in" (introduced gradually), so there could be some idea that the cat could get "phased." But I agree, it's "fazed."

Dolphins - worst.football.offense.ever!

Tony Romo is good,though.

I know it shouldn’t have such a big affect on me, but between you and I, the constant stream of grammatical errors and misspellings are enough to make myself loose my mind.

I sure the poor thing is terrified.

We need to get Tony Romo out of the booth and onto the field wearing Packer Green and Gold! I say that while acknowledging that Tony quickly became the best "color" announcer in the game.

Questions: Since when did the Fish start wearing "Tabby Gray" as their color? And why did Miami keep backup QB Moore in the game? Tannehill, Fales, even Doughty from the practice squad would have been better.

It's almost disgusting how good Romo is at this announcing job right out of the blocks with no experience in the work. But since he's a cheesehead we can put aside the awe and envy and celebrate his success. There's no doubt he will get to a Super Bowl as an announcer.

Did you know that Romo's father is Wisconsin State Senior Amateur Champion in golf?

Romo is actually having fun doing this. I think that's his secret.

Romo in the booth is the best thing in the NFL this year.

NFL must be pretty desperate for ratings if they've resorting to cute cat videos.

OK how did Miami lose the game 40-0, but Miami's defense still scored 13 fantasy points for me?

"but between you and I," wrong - should be "but between you and me,"

i will give you - "enough to make myself loose my mind." is plausible.

No idea Gharie unless your league rules award points for defensive tackles. They had no sacks or ints. Maybe refresh your browser:-)?

Beautiful (the cat) . . . and I say that as a dog person. "The achieve of, the mastery of the thing" (see Hopkins, "The Windhover").

@gadfly

The Thursday Night games feature "special" uniforms. The Color Rush uniforms are unique for the game. The general consensus is they are ugly as hell. Personally, they just remind me of Tecmo Bowl.

Also, I need more coffee, since I totally missed the joke in gadfly's comment about 'tabby grey'.

You play in a dipshit league?

(The Ravens D score 13 points)

In my league the Ravens D got 48 points.

I'd like to see more sports announcing of non-sports things.

Dolphin Head Coach Adam Gase this afternoon:

"We're the worst offense in football. Can't get any worse. I'm pissed. I'm tired of this. I'm tired of the offense being awful," Gase said Friday at the team's news conference. "Guys better need to get their heads right. Coaching staff needs to do a better job. Obviously, our players not knowing is a direct reflection of them.

Notice how the cat got all four feet inbounds and then turned up the sideline? You can’t coach instincts like that.

In Baseball, at Houston, during the 7th Inning, a fireman sang "God Bless America" quite beautifully, and the crowd and players stood tall, with hats off and seemed to sing along. Quite uplifting.

In Football, multi-millionaire Neanderthals, who couldn't get hired as public school PE teachers are kneeling during the Anthem, because (fill in the blank).

The most negative I have about Romo is that his voice isn't very distinctive. He has to learn better timing, not to step on his partner, and the value of silence, but that will come with time. Other than that, he's been great. Fresh insights. Good patter. And, as the clip above indicates, he knows his cliches and how to use them. (Thanks, Crash Davis.)
